Joy Omewa delivered a performance to remember as the Super Falcons forward scored twice to inspire Nigeria to an impressive victory over Senegal in their international friendly encounter.

The Nottingham Forest attacker was one of the brightest stars on the pitch, combining pace, sharp movement and confidence in front of goal as the Super Falcons continued their WAFCON preparations in fine fashion.

Omewa opened the scoring in the 49th minute, with a composed finish before adding her second later in the 56th minute of the game to cap off an outstanding individual display against the Teranga Lionesses.

Despite her brilliant outing, the forward remained modest while reflecting on the victory and her contribution to the team.

“I’m happy to help the team and I thank God for the opportunity,” Omewa told TheNationsDigest

“I feel good, but the most important thing is the team’s victory.”

“I’m always ready to give my best whenever I get the opportunity to play.”

The Nottingham Forest attacker also praised her teammates and coaches for their support throughout the game.

“My teammates made it easier for me. We worked together well and the coaches also encouraged us.”

Omewa’s performance continues to underline her growing importance in the Super Falcons squad as she gradually establishes herself as one of Nigeria’s exciting attacking options.

With the Super Falcons building momentum ahead of the WAFCON, fans will be hoping the in-form forward can continue her impressive run and contribute even more for the nine-time African champions.
