Super Falcons defender Ashley Plumptre has agreed to a new contract with Saudi Women’s Premier League club Al-Ittihad, extending her stay with the club until 2028.
The Nigerian international has enjoyed a productive spell in Saudi Arabia, making a significant impact since her arrival and establishing herself as one of the standout performers in the league.
Plumptre has recorded an impressive 15 goals and 17 assists in her first 32 appearances, meaning she has contributed directly to 32 goals during that period. Across 41 matches in total, the defender has registered 15 goals and 19 assists.
Her attacking influence has been particularly notable for a player who primarily operates in defence. She announced herself in spectacular fashion by scoring a hat-trick on her debut and has gone on to record several other three-goal hauls during her time with Al-Ittihad.
The defender’s progress, however, has recently been interrupted by a persistent foot injury suffered during her time with the club. The setback kept her away from competitive football and eventually led to surgery in March 2026 as she continues her recovery.
Despite her current injury situation, Al-Ittihad have demonstrated their confidence in Plumptre by handing her a contract extension that will keep her at the club for the next two years.
The new agreement represents another important chapter in the career of the Super Falcons star, who will now look to complete her recovery and return to the pitch stronger as she continues her journey with Al-Ittihad.
