The Nigeria Hockey Federation (NHF) has confirmed the appointment of technical officials and umpires for the upcoming National Super League 2026 for both men and women, scheduled to hold in Abuja.
According to the official appointment list released by the federation, the competition will take place from June 25 to July 5, 2026, at the National Stadium, Package B Hockey Pitch, Abuja.
The men’s category will feature top hockey clubs from across the country, including Stallions, Kada Stars, Niger Flickers, Plateau Tigers, Police Machine, IGP Flickers, South West, Edo, Adamawa Flickers, Kano, Yobe Desert Rollers, Rivers, and Katsina.
In the women’s category, participating teams include Kada Queens, Plateau Queens, IGP Babes, Delta Queens, South West, Bayelsa Glory Queens, Edo Queens, and Yobe Queens.
Leading the tournament’s technical crew is Prof. AGBO Ediga, who will serve as the NHF Representative, while Falore Olajuyigbe has been appointed as Technical Delegate (TD) for both the men’s and women’s competitions. Jibrin Kolo will serve as Umpires Manager.
The federation also confirmed the appointment of several technical officials, including Abrakasa Sampson, Lekwot Fatima Alaba, Adegbite Adetola, Nengak Samuel, Ajiboye Pelumi, Eluemelem Iyenwa, Elisha Agbelese, Aitalegbe Francis, and Aina Mayowa.
A total of 15 umpires have also been selected for the championship. They include Kichime Gbemerep, Sampou Ebitimi, Awasa Simon, Sanni Lateef, Cole Shola, Onosimian Charity, Ogadinma Bright, Yakubu Solomon, Enoch Oluwadamilola, Luka Pius, Kembo Iliya Daniel, Appollos Emmanuel, Obasuyi Peace, Odufade Hafeez, Kogi Grace, and Omolade Favour.
The National Super League remains one of the premier domestic hockey competitions in Nigeria, providing a platform for clubs and players to showcase their talents while contributing to the development of the sport across the country. The 2026 edition is expected to attract significant attention from hockey stakeholders and fans nationwide.
