Residents of Osun State and members of various civil society organizations have renewed calls for a thorough investigation into the unresolved shootings that occurred in the Owode-Ede, Oke-Fia, and Ogo-Oluwa areas of the state, demanding accountability and justice for victims.

The groups, under the banner of the “Gotan Must Go” campaign, expressed concern over the lack of arrests and official updates following the incidents, which reportedly claimed lives and sparked public outrage across affected communities.

They argued that the absence of visible progress in the investigations has raised questions about the effectiveness of ongoing efforts to bring those responsible to justice.

In separate statements, the residents and civil society organizations called on the Inspector General of Police to take decisive action by directing security agencies to intensify investigations into the shootings. They maintained that ensuring justice for the victims is crucial to restoring public confidence in the state’s security system.
The groups also urged the police leadership to work closely with the Osun State Police Command to ensure a transparent and comprehensive probe. According to them, swift action would help reassure residents and deter future acts of violence.
As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official announcement regarding arrests or the conclusion of investigations into the incidents. The calls from residents and civil society groups continue to grow as stakeholders seek answers and justice for those affected by the shootings.
