Edo Queens have emerged champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) for the second time in their history after a remarkable performance at the 2026 NWFL Super Six tournament in Port Harcourt.The Benin City side finished at the top of the Super Six standings with 10 points, capping off an impressive campaign that saw them outshine their rivals and reclaim the league crown.

Their triumph adds to the title they first won in 2024, further cementing their status as one of the leading teams in Nigerian women’s football.Throughout the competition, Edo Queens displayed consistency, resilience, and attacking quality, producing results that kept them ahead of the chasing pack. Their strong showing in Port Harcourt ultimately earned them the championship and the honour of being crowned the best women’s team in the country.

The victory also secures Edo Queens a place in the qualifying rounds of the prestigious CAF Women’s Champions League, where they will represent Nigeria on the continental stage as they seek to make another strong impression in Africa.

The latest success marks another significant milestone for the club and highlights the continued growth of women’s football in Nigeria. With two league titles in three seasons, Edo Queens have firmly established themselves as one of the dominant forces in the NWFL.
