Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has announced the nomination of Mr. Jerry Adams as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, describing the decision as a reaffirmation of his administration’s commitment to inclusion, justice, fairness and equitable governance.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the governor said the choice of Adams followed extensive consultations, deep reflection and prayers, stressing that the nomination goes beyond selecting a deputy governorship candidate.

According to Sani, the decision reflects the core values that have guided his administration since assuming office on May 29, 2023, particularly the belief that every resident of Kaduna State deserves a genuine sense of belonging regardless of religion, ethnicity or background.

The governor noted that Kaduna’s rich diversity remains one of its greatest strengths, adding that his administration has continued to promote peace, unity and inclusive development across the state’s 23 local government areas.

He highlighted achievements recorded in road construction, education, healthcare, water supply, agriculture, rural development and social protection, saying the projects were implemented with the aim of ensuring that no community is left behind.

Sani also credited traditional rulers, religious leaders, community organisations, women and youth groups for supporting the government’s peace-building efforts, which he said have contributed to improved security, increased agricultural activities, business growth and renewed investor confidence.

Speaking on his choice of running mate, the governor described Jerry Adams as an accomplished public servant, tax administrator and institution builder whose leadership at the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service has strengthened the state’s revenue generation through innovation, transparency and professionalism.

He said the improved fiscal capacity has enabled the government to invest more in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure and agriculture.

The governor further praised Adams for his integrity, humility and commitment to peaceful coexistence and inclusive governance, stating that his nomination demonstrates the administration’s resolve to prioritise merit, competence and character in leadership.

Sani called on the people of Kaduna State to embrace the nomination as a step towards building a more united, peaceful and prosperous state, urging them to look beyond religious, ethnic and geographical differences as preparations begin for the 2027 governorship election.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to consolidating the gains made over the past three years and expressed confidence that Kaduna would continue on the path of peace, security, justice and sustainable development.
