Nasarawa Amazons have emerged champions of the 2026 President Federation Cup after a hard-fought victory over Heartland Queens in the final held in Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.
It was a high-intensity contest between both sides, where fans and delegation were present for the game. The game commenced with Nasarawa Amazons showing more control in the early stages. However, they were unable to convert their chances as the first half ended goalless.
The game came alive in the second half when Heartland Queens took the lead through Chizoba Johnson in the 47th minute raising the possible hope for winning as they thrive more. Nasarawa Amazons recently responded with determination, and substitute Adaobi Judith made an instant impact by scoring the equaliser in the 67th minute of the game.
With both teams unable to find a winner, the match ended 1–1 after full time, forcing the game into a penalty shootout.
In a tense and dramatic finish, Heartland Queens and Nasarawa Amazons were both giving their best performances but Nasarawa Amazons held their nerve to secure a 6–5 victory on penalties, sealing the title after a closely contested final.
