Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka appears to be turning a new page in his personal and public life after receiving a chieftaincy title and a brand-new car from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The actor disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Thursday night, sharing his excitement and appreciation to the monarch for the honour, royal reception and gifts extended to him and his wife, celebrity stylist Afolashade Omiyinka.
As part of the recognition, Baba Ijesha was installed as Baba Awada Konge Oduwa, a title he described as a significant moment in his journey.
The latest recognition adds to what has been a remarkable period for the actor and his family. Only weeks earlier, Baba Ijesha and Luminee celebrated the arrival of their baby boy, King Kagar Omiyinka, with the actor describing the birth as one of God’s greatest blessings upon his household.
The honour from the Ife monarch marks one of Baba Ijesha’s most notable public appearances since his release from prison in November 2025.
THE NATIONS DIGEST recalls that the actor was sentenced in July 2022 following his conviction for sexually assaulting a minor. He was released in November 2025 after spending more than three years in custody.
He also served as Deputy Editor at Sahara Reporters Sports and worked as Content Manager for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), contributing significantly to sports journalism and digital content development in Nigeria.
