A serious fire outbreak has engulfed Iyanu Plastic Plaza located at the Old Garage area of Osogbo, causing panic and disruption in the busy commercial environment. The incident reportedly started earlier today and has continued for nearly an hour at the time of filing this report.
Eyewitnesses say the fire spread rapidly through parts of the plastic market, making it difficult for traders and residents to salvage their goods. Thick smoke was seen billowing into the sky as people rushed to safety to avoid being caught in the blaze.
Firefighters were quickly deployed to the scene and have been battling tirelessly to bring the situation under control.
However, despite their efforts, the fire is still raging, with the exact cause yet to be determined.Authorities are expected to carry out a full investigation once the fire is contained, while traders continue to count their losses amid fears of significant damage to goods and property.
