The race for the Nigeria Hockey Super League 2026 title is gathering momentum as the standings begin to take shape after Matchday Five, with several teams making strong statements in both the men’s and women’s categories.

A total of 83 goals have been scored in the men’s competition, while the women’s category has produced 43 goals, highlighting the attacking quality on display at the National Hockey Pitch in Abuja.

In the men’s division, Kada Stars continue to lead the way with a perfect record, winning all four of their matches. They are also the league’s highest-scoring side with 23 goals and remain the only team yet to concede a goal this season. Police Machine and Plateau Tigers have also maintained their unbeaten runs, keeping themselves firmly in the title race.

At the other end of the table, IGP Flickers are still searching for their first point of the campaign after five consecutive defeats, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the standings.

The women’s competition has also witnessed impressive consistency from the top contenders. Plateau Queens, Kada Queens, and Delta Queens are all yet to suffer defeat, underlining their credentials as leading challengers for this season’s championship.
