The second day of action at the 2026 Nigeria Hockey Super League produced another thrilling round of matches, with the women’s teams continuing to impress while Police Machine and Plateau Tigers battled to a stalemate in the day’s only men’s fixture at the National Hockey Pitch, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In the women’s category, Plateau Queens secured their second consecutive victory with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Yobe Desert Queens, maintaining their perfect start to the campaign and keeping pace with the league leaders.

Defending champions Kada Queens also made it two wins from two matches after defeating IGP Babes 4-0. The convincing victory extended their unbeaten run and reinforced their status as one of the title favourites.

Southwest bounced back from their opening-day defeat with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Edo Queens, earning their first three points of the season and moving up the standings.

In the men’s division, Police Machine and Plateau Tigers settled for a goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter. Despite creating scoring opportunities, both sides failed to find the breakthrough, with Plateau Tigers recording another draw while Police Machine remained unbeaten after two outings.

At the end of Matchday Two, Kada Queens and Plateau Queens remain the only teams with perfect records in the women’s category, while Kada Stars are the only men’s team with a perfect start after match day two. The title race continues to take shape as teams battle for early supremacy in the 2026 Nigeria Hockey Super League.
