The University of Ilesa, Osun State, is set to commission the Dame Eunice Olayinka Obaleye Entrepreneurship, Skills and Innovation Centre on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

In a release signed by Babatunde Fanawopo, Senior Assistant Registrar, Corporate Services & Information Unit, University of Ilesa, the institution said the commissioning of the Centre marks a significant milestone in its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and innovation.

The iconic facility was donated to the University by the late Dame Eunice Olayinka Obaleye as a landmark project aimed at empowering students and members of the wider community with practical skills, entrepreneurial opportunities and platforms for innovation.

According to the release, the commissioning ceremony will be performed by His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland.

The event is expected to attract distinguished dignitaries from government, academia, industry and the traditional institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu, FCA, will host the ceremony.

The University described the Centre as an important investment in human capital development, with the potential to equip young people with relevant skills and create opportunities for entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.

The commissioning is expected to further strengthen the University of Ilesa’s role in fostering practical education and empowering students to contribute meaningfully to economic and community development.
