The All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Engineer Benjamin Kayode Adereti, has assured the people of Osun State that the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, will govern with the best interests of the state at heart if elected in the forthcoming governorship election.
Speaking during the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Guest Platform, Adereti said the APC has a proven record of development and is prepared to implement policies that will further improve the lives of residents across the state. He stressed that youth empowerment would remain a major priority, promising employment opportunities, skills development, and inclusive governance.
According to him, the administration will transform the agricultural sector by training farmers in mechanised farming, providing the necessary support for increased productivity, and constructing rural access roads to ease the movement of farm produce. He also pledged that healthcare would receive greater attention, while workers’ welfare would be taken seriously.
Adereti further promised to revitalise sports development in Osun State, describing it as an important tool for youth engagement and talent discovery. He maintained that the APC government would introduce policies that would reposition the sector and create opportunities for young athletes.
The APC deputy governorship candidate also emphasised the importance of education, noting that his background in public schools shaped his appreciation for quality education. “I value education because I have passed through the streets. I attended public schools all my life,” he said.
Commenting on the political landscape, Adereti expressed confidence that the people of Ile-Ife would support the APC in the forthcoming election, describing them as progressive-minded. He added that he is joining the ticket to complement Oyebamiji’s leadership, insisting that Osun deserves competent leadership capable of delivering sustainable development.
