Plateau United Football Club has suspended plans to introduce a modified club logo following concerns and reservations expressed by supporters and other stakeholders.

The decision was announced in a statement signed by the club’s Chairman, Al-Hassan Yakmut, PhD, NPOM, who acknowledged the important role fans play in the club’s identity, representation and overall activities.

According to the statement, the proposed logo modification has been put on hold pending broader consultations and engagement with the club’s stakeholders, including supporters.

The management explained that the planned change was part of its efforts to improve the club’s merchandising and commercial prospects, while also aligning Plateau United’s visual identity with modern global trends.

However, following the reactions from fans, the club has decided to adopt a more inclusive approach to the process. Management disclosed that three different logo designs will be presented to stakeholders, with one eventually selected for adoption.

The club also clarified that the existing Plateau United logo remains the official and authentic crest until a new design is formally adopted.

Yakmut apologised for any inconvenience caused by the proposed change, while assuring supporters that the club’s management remains committed to protecting the collective interests and identity of Plateau United.
