The Osun State Football Association (Osun FA) has entered into a partnership with Prostar Sports Kits to support football development and competitions across the state.

The partnership, which makes Prostar Sports Kits an Official Football Partner of the Osun FA, is aimed at strengthening the association’s grassroots, youth and organised football programmes.

According to a statement signed by the Head of Media, Osun FA, Seyi Akanni, the partnership followed a formal request by the association for Prostar to support its football development programmes and competitions.

Prostar subsequently agreed to provide material and promotional support as part of its commitment to football and youth development in Osun State.

The Osun FA currently oversees several competitions, including the SmartCity Osun State Football League, Osun State Women’s Football League, Osun State Corporate Football League, Osogbo Street Soccer Challenge, Osun State Intercollegiate Football League, Osun State Principals’ Cup and Osun State Headmasters’ Cup.

Under the agreement, Prostar Sports Kits will provide 20 pairs of tracksuits and 20 shirts in support of the Osun FA Cup.

The sportswear company will also provide six Prostar footballs and 10 branded shirts for the final of each supported competition, while two Man of the Match awards will be presented at the semi-final stage.

The association said the items would be supplied progressively as the respective competitions advance.

In return, Prostar will receive visibility across supported competitions through official photographs, videos, social media content, match-day activities, branding and other promotional platforms.

Prostar has also requested at least one week’s advance notice ahead of relevant activities to enable adequate preparation and production.

Speaking on the partnership, Osun FA Chairman, Mayor Sola Fanawopo, described the collaboration as another step towards strengthening the relationship between football administration and the private sector.

“Osun FA is committed to creating an enabling environment where football can grow at every level, from grassroots and schools football to organised leagues and competitions,” Fanawopo said.

He appreciated Prostar Sports Kits for responding positively to the association’s partnership proposal and committing resources to its competitions.

Fanawopo added that the association looked forward to a productive relationship that would benefit players, coaches, officials, clubs and young footballers across the state.

The Osun FA said the partnership forms part of its broader objective of building a sustainable football ecosystem by connecting competitions, players, schools, clubs, corporate organisations, sponsors and other stakeholders.

The association expressed optimism that the collaboration would improve the quality and visibility of its competitions while giving Prostar an opportunity to connect with football stakeholders and supporters across Osun State.
