The Nigerian Midfielder Kafayat Folakemi Shittu has completed her move to Turkish club Ünye Kadın SK ahead of the new season in the Kadın Futbol Süper Ligi.
The 29-year-old midfielder has joined Ünye Kadın SK. She was playing for Giresun Sanayispor before, where she joins the squad that helped the team gain promotion to the Turkish Women’s Super League.
This new signing represents another huge step in her career in Turkish women’s football, having established herself as a midfielder capable of competing at a high level.
The Midfielder joined Giresun Sanayispor from 2023 and featured regularly for the club in both the Turkish Women’s First League and the promotion play-offs.
Records from the Turkish Football Federation show she started many important games for Giresun Sanayispor.
Kafayat Shittu made 17 appearances for the Giresun Sanayispor where she made 13 starts, 2 substitute appearances and 2 games on the bench in the 2025/2026 Season.
Following Giresun Sanayispor’s progress into the Turkish Women’s Football Super League, Shittu kept playing for the club at the top level. She started games against big sides like Galatasaray and Ünye Kadın SK in the Turkcell Kadın Futbol Süper Ligi season.
Her move to Ünye Kadın SK now gives the Nigerian Midfielder a new chance to keep growing and make her mark in Turkey’s top division.
Shittu will bring in her experience, strength and quality in midfield to her new team with certainty as Ünye Kadın SK gets ready for another tough season in the top flight.
The move also shows how the Nigerian female players are performing exceptionally well in Turkish Women’s Football, as Shittu continues her journey in the Kadın Futbol Süper Ligi.
