Rivers Angels FC have unveiled a new-look technical crew ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) season, with Whyte Ogbonda making a return to the Jewel of Rivers as Head Coach.
Ogbonda, who previously led the Port Harcourt-based side, returns with an impressive recent track record on the domestic scene. He will be joined by Isaac Thomas Atonbere, appointed as Assistant Coach, while Sunday Uduh takes charge as Goalkeeper Coach.
The appointments signal a fresh chapter for Rivers Angels as the club strengthens its technical structure ahead of the new NWFL campaign.
Ogbonda is no stranger to success with Rivers Angels. In 2024, he guided the club to Federation Cup glory, before continuing his winning run with Bayelsa Queens, whom he led to the NWFL Premiership title in 2025.
His return to Rivers Angels brings back a coach who already understands the club and its ambitions, while his recent success adds further experience to a technical team preparing for the demands of a new season.
With the new campaign approaching, all eyes will be on the Jewel of Rivers as Ogbonda and his coaching crew begin the task of rebuilding, competing and pushing Rivers Angels back to the summit of Nigerian women’s football.
The Jewel of Rivers has welcomed back a familiar face, and a proven winner.
