C2E Sports Academy emerged as the Champions of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Nationwide League after defeating Obosa Queens FA in a hard-fought final.
The final brought together two teams making history as first-time finalists, with both sides already securing promotion to the NWFL Championship following their impressive campaigns.
C2E Sports Academy started the final on the front foot and quickly showed their attacking intent. Their strong start was rewarded in the 11th minute when Agnes Oluchi found the back of the net to give her side an early lead.
Oluchi, who also finished as the league’s top scorer, continued her impressive campaign by producing another important goal on the biggest day of the competition.
C2E continued to control the game and created more pressure as the first half progressed. Their efforts paid off again in the 30th minute when Nina Ude scored the second goal to extend their advantage.
The two-goal lead gave C2E Sports Academy a strong position heading into the break, while Obosa Queens FA faced the task of finding a way back into the contest.
Obosa Queens returned from the interval with greater purpose and quickly reduced the deficit. Just two minutes into the second half, Saidat Idowu scored to make it 2-1 and bring renewed hope to her team.
The goal changed the momentum of the match as Obosa Queens pushed forward in search of an equaliser. C2E Sports Academy, however, remained organised and worked hard to protect their advantage.
Despite the pressure from Obosa Queens in the closing stages, C2E held firm until the final whistle to secure a 2-1 victory and lift the NWFL Nationwide League title.
The victory marks C2E Sports Academy’s maiden NWFL Nationwide League trophy and completes an outstanding campaign in which they maintained an impressive winning run throughout the competition.
For both finalists, the occasion also marked an important moment in their history, with C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens FA reaching the final for the first time.
Their performances throughout the season earned both clubs promotion to the NWFL Championship, giving them the opportunity to compete at a higher level next season.
For C2E Sports Academy, however, the final ended in a historic celebration as they were officially crowned the 2025/2026 NWFL Nationwide League champions, completing a remarkable campaign with the trophy in their hands.
